Can’t get to the Zoo?

Now the Zoo can come to your classroom via the Internet! Through videoconferencing you and your students will participate in live distance-learning programs featuring lots of up-close animal viewing, interactive discussions with presenters, hands-on activities for your students, and pre-and post-visit activity suggestions.

It’s easy to do!

Many schools already have two-way videoconferencing equipment and provide technical assistance to get you started. You can also contact your local ISD for the equipment and support.

Programs offered:

Clowns, Corals and Conservation – Immerse yourself into the amazing world of underwater reefs. Look through the lens of the live cameras in our reef exhibit to focus on:
  • What is a coral?
  • Symbiosis
  • Animal adaptations
  • Threat to reefs
  • Conservation of reefs
What’s for Lunch? – It’s eat or be eaten in the wild kingdom! Learn how animals develop amazing strategies for catching food … and to avoid becoming dinner. Topics include:
  • Compare and contrast carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores
  • Food chains and food webs
  • Predator-prey interactions
  • Nutrition
  • Camouflage and escape strategie

Customize your presentation:

We are happy to work with you and customize a presentation that meets your students’ needs and grade level. Our goals is to create an experience that will maximize your students’ learning.

Fees:

$110 per presentation
$75 for subsequent presentations (same school, same day)
