New Look!

I’m glad to be the first person to welcome you to the new potterparkzoo.org! After a few months of really hard work by lots of people around PPZ, and our friends at Artemis Solutions, I think we’ve come up with a pretty amazing website. If you’ve been here before, you can see we’ve made a TON of changes. In fact, nearly everything is different. Things aren’t just pretty looking; she’s a beauty under the hood too! You’ll find photos from our visitors on our animal pages thanks to our Flickr group, our latest Tweets on the home page, special events in our spicy new calendar, and great behind the scenes info in this very blog.
Yep, I’d say we’ve done a pretty good job, and we have our growing online community to thank for all of this – that’s you! PPZ has been a part of Lansing for 90 years, and our fans are the absolute best. Our hope is that this site along with our pages at Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and YouTube (coming soon), we’ll be able to create an experience online that enhances trips to your zoo.
As always, I’ll see you at the zoo, and don’t forget to stop in and say hi to me on Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr!

My wife and I vistited the PPZ a few years ago and now we are excited to bring our 22 month old to PPZ to enjoy it's beauty and wonderment. Keep up the good work. :)

New PR
Such a great layout for the new website! I really enjoy it in comparison to the last design...On a personal note, the last day we had 70 degree weather my fiance and I took our son to the zoo. We had a terrific time. To make it more exciting, we were able to meet the photographer for your new ad campaign. While we didn't think the pictures she took, with our agreement, of course, would be used in the new campaign, it was! My fiance and my son are briefly in the latest commerical, which I haven't yet seen, but now I plan to be on the lookout for! I just think it's great that our community zoo is using real local patrons for it's PR. I think it truly says a lot about Potter Park Zoo. What a great community fun spot! I suggest everyone make a trip this year...you never know what great things will come of it!

Thanks for the note! I hope to ge tthe otter cam migrated over to the new site soon - but like all technical thingy-do's (technical term), it may take a little time. As soon as we do get it working - expect to see a link on the homepage, and a notification sent out to all of our followers on facebook and twitter.

I want to congratulate Jake on an amazing effort to remodel our website! I am so very proud of all we continue to accomplish towards our goal of excellence at our zoo and make a visit here educational and fun for our guests. Even virtual ones! I look forward to seeing everyone this summer at the Feline/Primate house (don't forget to stop by to see the piglets in the Farmyard Edventure!)
