Did You Know?
The Eurasian Eagle Owl is amongst the largest owls on earth -- with a wingspan of 6ft!
Do you love animals and wildlife conservation? Then Potter Park Zoo is the place for you. There are many volunteer opportunities available. No special skills or previous training is required. Just bring your passion for adventure and desire to make a difference and we'll show you how you can impact others.
Potter Park Zoo hosts many private and public events throughout the year. A variety of volunteers such as greeters, craft assistants, face painters, storytellers, ticket takers, and registration helpers are needed to help make each a success.
A green thumb is not required to join this team. Gardening and Grounds Volunteers keep the zoo blooming. Team members help with planting, weeding, watering, and mulching, as well as end of season raking and general clean-up.
The seasoned volunteers who have an expanded knowledge of the zoo are our ambassadors. They stroll through the zoo, greeting guests with a smaile and offering assistance where needed. If there's ever a question, they have the answer.
Occasionally our office staff can use a hand preparing mailings, memberships, or other clerical projects. If you can sort and shuffle, we've got a task for you!
If you're ready to take the next step and become a Potter Park Zoo volunteer, fill out a volunteer application online at www.potterparkzoo.org/volunteer and either e-mail, fax, mail or drop it off at the zoo's Discovery Center. Still have questions? For answers call (517) 244-8023 or e-mail Carrie Green, Volunteer Coordinator - email@example.com.
