Join
us in the Safari Room at Potter Park Zoo on Wednesday, May 21,
2008, at 6:30PM, as Craig Godfrey from Godfrey Financial gives
you the inside scoop youve always wanted to know about investing
in your zoo and yourself.
Even
if you have no idea what to expect, or havent even considered
such options, we are here to answer your questions on all of the
possibilities there are with our donor opportunities. Youll
learn about:
Charitable
Remainder Trusts (Annuity and Unitrust), done prior to death,
for possible immediate tax deductions.
Donor
Advised Funds. A larger amount can be contributed to the Fund
and paid out over multiple years.
Securities.
Stocks, bonds, and mutual funds held more than a year may qualify
for significant tax benefits as you are able to deduct the fair
market value of the investment without paying tax on the long
term capital gain.
Charitable
Lead Trust. Assets contributed to a trust and the investment earnings
are paid to the zoo.
IRAs.
Funds given directly to the Zoo Society.
Life
Insurance. The zoo can be listed as the beneficiary on the policy,
or the policy can be transferred to the zoo prior to death.
Wills.
Specific amounts given to the zoo.
Endowment.
Money is given to the Society to fund an endowment that stays
invested, and the zoo uses the investment earnings only.
As
a 501c3 nonprofit we run a very tight budget and rely on your
generosity to help us offset the inevitable increases.
Bequests
allow us to continue our education, conservation and great care
of all species of animal.
We
will have refreshments here and lots of information, with absolutely
no obligation. This is friendly and informative. No pressure.
Wont you join us?
